Stingray Instruments started off life as most companies do, in a garage near the Scottish city of Edinburgh. Through intensive sampling, unorthodox programming of innocent synthesisers and a mutual love of small toy dogs, Troy Marshall and Pete Checkley decided to make it official and upgrade the garage to the now infamous Stingray Towers. The synth of choice is Omnisphere and the two plucky sound designers got to work sampling anything and everything they could get their hands on. Vintage synths, found sounds, expensive guitars and a small instrumental ensemble found behind an abandoned theatre have all found their way into their diverse and eclectic sample packs. Aside from the great sounds, many customers have reported their love and general amusement for the fanciful narratives that describe each patch.
